Pylos – Navarino

The city is spread out like an amphitheater, using a peculiar architectural plan. The beautiful square dominates the area, with the imposing monument to the three Admirals, framed by two cannons from the Navarino Battle of 1827, and shaded by enormous plane trees. It is a beautiful place, with historical significance and monuments such as the castle and the Archaeological Museum, displaying locally found artifacts from the Stone Age to the Minoan Era.

The ruins of the palace of the ancient king of Pylos, Nestor, as well as a domed tomb that is believed to be his, are found on Eglianos Hill. Natural sites such as the Gialova wetlands, the famed Voidokilia beach, caverns, and others.
